The Robot Special
Q&A with Colin
Q. How long have you been longboarding?
A. I started building boards in my basement in 7th grade. That was my first longboard, so going on 10 years now.
Q. How did you get into it?
A. I always loved my dads wood shop and hurting myself so the two went hand in hand.
Q. Where was this video captured?
A. This video was filmed in the middle of Kansas, we make a lot of day trips out there from Boulder, haha.
Q. What gave you the idea to do a night run?
A. Well, aswag (Aaron Hampshire) basically murdered this run as hard as is humanly possible, so I figured if I was going to do it justice it would have to be at night. Also, Luna runs are an ancient Colorado tradition dating back to the pagans, so I really can't take credit for the idea.
Q. How do you like the Robot Special?
The robot special is amazing, it's seen some absurd levels of abuse and stood the test of time. My style has totally evolved after switching from a homemade deck to the pockets of the robot, I won't be changing any time soon.
Q. What music was in the video?
A. The first song was sinner man by Nina Simone, straight from the Thomas Crown affair. The second was the solo to freebird-cause that shit shreds.
